Tactile imagery

Tactile imagery is the ability to imagine touch sensations—texture, pressure, contact, and temperature—without physical stimulation. Research distinguishes haptic (texture, pressure, contact) from thermoception (warmth, cold) as subcategories that can differ in strength. The Imagination Index measures tactile imagery as one of the six senses and reports your linear score and percentile score for the Tactile category. It is distinct from motor imagery and kinesthetic imagery, which concern movement and body position.
