Auditory imagery

Auditory imagery is the ability to simulate sound in your mind—speech, music, environmental sounds—without hearing them. It includes your mind's ear for voices, melodies, and rhythms. Some people have very vivid auditory imagery; others have little or none (anauralia). The Imagination Index measures auditory imagery as one of the six senses and reports your linear score and percentile score for the Auditory category. Research tools like the BAIS separate vividness from control (how well you can direct the inner sound).
