Anauralia is the absence or near-absence of voluntary auditory imagery—a "silent" inner world with no voluntary mental sound. It is sometimes described as auditory aphantasia. People with anauralia typically cannot voluntarily "hear" a tune, a voice, or environmental sounds in their mind, though they may still have earworms (involuntary musical imagery). The Imagination Index measures auditory imagery as one of the six senses, so you can see whether your auditory channel is in the aphantasia, typical (phantasia), or hyperphantasia range.
